Lauretta Newby-Coker

Practices painting in ink, coffee, and acrylic paint, and she also creates stained glass mosaics.  Her subjects include portraits, landscapes, and floral compositions, as well as figures from the Native American experience.  She has experience in forensic art, book illustration, large-scale murals, and scrimshaw for musical instruments.  She has taught in the Norman, OK public schools for many years.  She says, “No matter what life deals me, art is my way of coping with everything”
